I don't have a question but want to comment on your book Get Sauced with Sass! The price of your vegan sauce book is a BARGAIN. I am excited to cook again and I give you all the credit.
About 6 years ago I broke my vegetarian diet after 16 years. I have since gained about 42 pounds - yuck. I attribute this to my diet, stress and menopause-TMI? Anyway I am motivated to make some changes.
My husband was released from the hospital yesterday after having surgery - cancer. He took a local class before his hospitalization about cancer and diet. His text book was a vegan lifestyle book and this was what nudged him into exploration in changing his diet; I did not choose to take the course because I had some knowledge and did not want to spend the money.
At the same time I found your website by googling "how to cook beans". What a find. Your entire website is fun and so educational.
So after downloading your book Get Sauced...I was eager to make something. Sauces have been my downfall. I just could not figure out what to do, how to enhance, etc...making sauces out of something other than tomatoes seemed foreign to me.
My husband purchased some raw cashews (some of his homework from the cancer project was to make some of the recipes). So about 45 minutes ago I made the cashew sauce. OMGosh it is fast, easy, and most of all delicious. We have a Vitamix and I'm so happy to be using it for something other than smoothies.
Here is what I poured the sauce over: I sauteed zucchini, shallots, and oyster mushrooms, I added some rice and beans that I had on hand, half an avocado, tomatoes, and red lettuce all wrapped up in a high fiber wheat tortilla wrap. Yum the sauce exceeded my expectations.
So, I wanted to say thank you for your work. Your information is well organized and so informative and educational. I'm looking forward to making more sauces and experimenting with my own recipes with the information you provided.
I also intend to purchase your GET DOWN weight loss program.
