Vegan Food While Traveling

I am new to the Vegan diet and my work requires me to travel 4 days per week. What are some easy ways to make sure I'm sticking to the lifestyle, when I have no control over what is made in restaurants. What are my best options to stick to it?
*****Sassy Sez: Hi Andrea! A first it seems very tough to travel as a vegan, but after years of doing it myself I can tell you it is not only possible, but quite easy to do.
Even on a cruise ship!Firstly, when you leave town be sure to bring along foods which travel well such as dried soups (just add hot water), various healthy bars, individual serving sizes of nut butters. We bring an
electric hot water maker
that we stuff in our suitcase for soups, quick-cook breakfast oats, and teas. Can't tell you how many times it has saved us!
Next, please know that most chefs/cooks get pretty bored preparing the same menu items over and over and over again. And they usually welcome the opportunity to use their creativity to come up with something you can eat and, hopefully (!), love.
Of course, your best bet would be to hit the restaurants during the hours when they are not superbly busy so they can have some time to think about what they can come up with for you. Be sure to share those major foods that you for sures want to avoid such as meat, chicken, fish, eggs, butter, milk, cheese, etc.
Just remember, they are fallible. Patience is required.
