Making steamed turnips are one of my favorite ways to prepare turnips because they cook up so fast and you don't have to watch them -- just set the timer and let them do their thing.
Place the peeled, whole turnips in a steamer. Cook for 20-25 minutes.
Turnips can also be quartered or cut into large dice, and will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on how small you have made the cuts. Turnips are done when they're tender to your liking.
