How To Make Steamed Carrots

Making steamed carrots are such an easy way of preparing carrots. Unlike some of the other methods, they aren't cooked WITH other flavors, but the additional flavors are added afterwards.

I like making carrots using this technique because they retain most of their nutrients in this manner. Sometimes you don't even have to add any additional flavors when they're ready because their sweetness really comes out.

Place the sliced, diced or chopped carrots in a steamer. Cook for 5-15 minutes, depending on how small you have made the cuts. Carrots are done when they're fork tender.

You can cook your carrots whole, if you'd like. Count on anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour (or more), depending on their size. Not the fastest way to cook them, no doubt.

When your carrots are tender, use the Carrot "Vegan Flavor Matches" to create your very own recipe.
