Sauteed Brussels Sprouts
Making sauteed Brussels sprouts are my preferred way of cooking this delectable veggie.
This cooking technique works nicely when you'd like your sprouts to gain a little flavor with the oil or vegetable broth you'll be cooking it in. You can also use white wine. Experiment to find the flavors you like best.
Saute your Brussels before baking to make them more tender so they'll bake in a reasonable amount of time.
Begin by first slicing, quartering or chopping your veggie.
Place a frying pan with a lid over medium heat. Add a little extra-virgin olive oil (1-2 teaspoons should do it), or simply use water or veggie broth, or other liquid of choice. When the liquid is hot, add the Brussels sprouts. Cover, stirring occasionally. Cook until crisp tender, 5-10 minutes. DO NOT OVERCOOK.
You can also add other foods to the pan to add flavor to your finished dish, such as chopped or sliced onions and garlic. Just be sure to add them to the pan first and cook until tender before adding the sprouts. This will ensure your Brussels sprouts don't overcook and turn into a mushy mess.
Now comes the fun part. Use the Brussels Sprouts "Vegan Flavor Matches" to create your very own recipe. Add the foods and flavors you like directly to your pan. Warm. Serve.
