Braised Celery

Making braised celery is many times the preferred way of cooking your celery before using it in other dishes, such as stuffing. To braise simply means that you will brown your veggie before adding liquid to the pan to complete the cooking process.

Begin by slicing, shredding or chopping your veggie first.

Place a frying pan with a lid over medium heat. Add a little extra-virgin olive oil (1 teaspoon should do it). When the oil is hot, add the celery. Stir and let cook until mostly browned.

Next, add water (or veggie broth) until it comes halfway up the side of the celery. Cover and let cook in this liquid until tenderized to your liking. Drain liquid.

Your celery is now ready to customize to your liking.

Now comes the fun part. Use the Celery "Vegan Flavor Matches" to create your very own recipe. Add the foods and flavors you like directly to your pan with the celery. Warm. Serve.
