Anthony's Dandelion Deli

Anthony's Dandelion Deli is an adorable deli owned and operated by Anthony DeMasi. Anthony and his small but efficient crew work very hard to bring you some of the best vegetarian food in Reno.

While Dandelion Deli is not a vegetarian restaurant, it is one of the few restaurants in Reno that actually have vegan dishes on their menu. In fact, they always have 2 or 3 vegan specials to choose from (and usually 1 that is gluten-free) which you will find written on their erasable white board which is updated throughout the day.

Their Soup of the Day is always vegan as well, and they also have a vegan chili.

Their deli case holds a good selection of refrigerated vegetable and bean salads. Dandelion has a nice assortment of sandwiches too, which are written on a blackboard over their deli case. You can choose from their preselected sandwiches, or make your own with their yummy variety of vegetables, hummus, toppings, and breads. They even have vegan cheese, vegan mayo, and vegan cream cheese.

Regarding their food, it's amazing. Everything Jeff and I have ever eaten at Dandelion has a fresh, homemade taste. They have a big beverage case filled with various bottled teas, juices, and natural sodas. They also have REALLY good hot coffee and even vegan hot chocolate.

And oh, beware of their dessert case, which houses the most scrumptious vegan cupcakes and desserts you will find in Reno - some are even gluten-free (like this moist chocolate cupcake with sinful white frosting on the right). Which reminds me, you can place an order for vegan cakes for your next celebration; yes, they're a bit on the spendy side, but the results are so delicious you will find they are well worth the cost.

The deli is always clean and comfy, and it all adds up to a pleasurable experience.

And since Anthony also serves up non-vegetarian food, it's a good place to come with your non-veg friends and family so you can all dine together at an affordable price.

Sunday: Closed

(Note: Do not show up 10 minutes before they close and expect to sit down to eat. I love them, but they run a tight ship and are militant about their closing time - they will pack your food up to go without a word.)
